there was the ask for a _new_ mailing list and the ddts should send
the notification to this list. (btw: I don't propose this way) 

With this there is _no_ spam (in your meaning)!

Maybe you don't understand this all....


The spam (in your meaning) is over! The ddts don't send notifications
mails now! Not to a list and not to maintainers. 

Maybe we change this in future with a opt-in or opt-out option on a
maintainer email address base after some discussion... 

But now this battle is over (and some people like todays this words
like /bin/laden, battle, wars, death, blood, ...). I don't like this
all. I like improvements and translations are a very big improvements
(maybe not for you, but this is your problem).
