What is on-topic on debian-devel?
Hi,
debian-devel is very high-traffic and there are many discussions that must
be there but many other don't belong there. Even if someone is a Debian
developer and he uses these programs for maintaining packages it's in my
personal opinion off-topic to ask questions about how to do something in
e.g. emacs or mutt on this list when this question isn't really
Debian-specific. The same is true for Debian-related discussions where
better places to discuss them exist like e.g. reporting bug in a package
(we have a BTS) or if maintainers have problems specific to one package
(debian-mentors seems to be a better place in most cases).
Please think twice if a mail really belongs to debian-devel before sending
it.
TIA
Adrian
