AFAIK mgp uses TeX/LaTeX and goes to ps via dvi ? So you have to declare
macro package that give a corresponding font to non-ASCII characters. I just
use plain TeX with customed macros, so I'm not really accustomed with LaTeX.
But this is kind of \usepackage[french]{babel} or something like that.
