Same package, different versions, existing on pandora and auric
I've been working on a new frontend to debbugs, that is SQL based. In so
doing, I needed to import a Package -> Source mapping, and a Source ->
Maintainer mapping(indices/Maintainers is the combination of these two).
I have a script(1) that does the above, but noticed that when merging the two
systems that are on auric and pandora, that there were dups. Below you will
find the list of duplicate binary packages and source packages.
For some reason or another, a package has moved from auric to pandora, or from
pandora to auric. However, the old version of the package still has an entry
in the former machines projectb database.
Additionally, the script(1) I have handles multiple versions correctly(which
happens normally, and is not a bug), by only choosing the lastest
version(this selection can't be done with a simple SQL query, however). The
goal is to use this new script to replace the existing Maintainers file,
which, as several know(2), has some inconsistencies.
Now, the question is, should bugs be filed on ftp.debian.org, to remove the
duplicate packages? I do hope they use this script(or something very
similiar) to fix the bugs that the current Maintainers file has.
