Another changelog rant
I swear I've seen this rant here before, but it doesn't seem to have made its
way into any documentation that I can find. I'm seeing a lot of changelog
entries lately that look like these (fictional examples to protect the guilty):
* Applied patch from Joe Blow (Closes: #bug)
* Change debian/rules (Closes: #bug)
No matter how embarrassing the bug was, these changelog entries are next to
useless. Changelog entries must make sense without context from the BTS.
Where would be a good place to recommend this where it would get some
attention? It doesn't seem to fit in the developer's reference, because it
relates specifically to packaging, and the packaging manual is now part of
Policy.
