it looks more like GREEK SMALL LETTER PI:

whereas it should look more like this:

similarily, CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER U looks the same like 
ascii y, which is again a bad typography - it should look more
like this (with diagonal, not vertical, right stroke,
the same for CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER U):
