I agree.  I've used Debian since 1.1.  While I did learn to use dselect
when necessary, I usually found it better to just use dpkg.  I abandoned
dselect as soon as apt became usable.

I find both vi and Emacs easy to use (except when I lose track of which I'm
using at the moment).
