Optional, upgrade will complete, system keeps running, although logging
suffers if no reboot.
Bigger problem is unstable modutils requiring a kernel newer than 2.0
series. That would prevent an upgrade from buzz to unstable without a
reboot to a 2.2 series kernel.
I have a box at home that runs a 2.0 series kernel that I can upgrade to
unstable, except for modutils. I'll compile a new kernel for it, someday.
