You have an old copy of Socket.pm floating around.  The current version
of the Socket module included with perl is 1.72 .

Do you have a /usr/lib/perl5/Socket.pm?  Or somewhere else in @INC
before /usr/lib/perl/5.6.1?

If so, where from?
