Is it only me, or do others also think it is sad that we have the need to
have such lines in policy?

Common sense may be anything but, still I'd think a registered debian
developer would have enough of it not to close upstream bugs and scream "go
away" to his package users.

Oh well. If someone proposes this to -policy correctly, I'll second it.
