Network Driver Porting from Redhat to Debian!!!

Hello,
Can anyone help me in the following:

I have a driver code in Redhat6.2, kernel 2.2.x But I
need to port the same in Debian for the same kernel
version. When I tried,

I get some error messages that are specific to
Redhat6.2
make: *** No rule to make target
`/usr/src/linux/include/linux/modules/capidrv.ver',
needed by `wnic-p0_j.d'. Stop.

Previous to this, it was looking for rhconfig.h, which
is equivalent to config.h in Debian.

Could anyone help me how to proceed with the porting
and how much time (approximately ), it would take for
this, because the driver code doesn't require any
kernel level changes.

regards
Jalaja
