[stable] alsa-source won't compile with current packaged kernel

It seems that many kernel structures have massively changed in
the course of the recent merges of 2.4 code into the 2.2 series.
The current version of alsa-source in potato won't compile with
the current 2.2 kernel sources in stable. The alsa-source from
unstable works perfectly fine. There are even some patches for
the version in alsa currently in stable in the BTS, though I
didn't bother to try them.
It seems that this issue is being ignored, there is no upload in
proposed upgrades, though the issue is known since the 2.4.0 pre
kernels it seems.
This is a mayor fault and I keep being asked about it.
