Perhaps we need to standardize on a source format that suits these
maintainers and is still easy for everyone else to use, aswell as being
well documented. Don't take away the tools that make the maintainers life
easy, just to satisfy everyone else. After all, it is the maintainer who
is putting in his hard work to make the package available anyway.

There are lots of packages like this, and Wichert has already started
discussions on it. How about the folks who hate DBS join in and make the
end result suitable for everyone.
