In fact. I use it, but I had to modify it.

I talked several days ago with aj, but it was too late to make a NMU. Joy
was preparing it. 

The only modification (suggested by Joy) to make it to work are:

chgrp mail /usr/lib/maildrop/bin/maildrop
chmod g+s  /usr/lib/maildrop/bin/maildrop

It works for me from a lot of time with those, and I filed that RC bug.

The doubt is those modifications could create security problem...
