The system it was compiled on is a libc6, XF4 system. However, this
system began life as a pre-freeze (read: unstable) Potato, and has
been through many `apt-get update ; apt-get dist-upgrade' cycles.

I would guess that the "confusion" stems from both xlib6 (>= 3.3.6-4)
and xlibs (>= 4.0.1-1) being listed in the Depends: field. Well, they
are both installed on my development box. So, the dependency is correct,
from my point of view....

Here's the rub: Should I keep multiple versions of Fidelio in Woody?
One for XF3, one for XF[34] hybrid, and one for XF4? If this is what
is necessary, I will gladly do so. :^)

OTOH, my "lazy gene" tells me to stay with the hybrid until XF3 is
finally and completely obsoleted by XF4. ;^>

Or should I go strictly with XF4 right now?

Either way, though, I put the package into Woody for everyone to use.
So, I'll do what is needful to make it _available_ to everyone. :^)

Let me know what you need....

Cheers!
