/usr/bin/perl.dist vs /usr/bin/perl
So,
Does anyone know why perl is designed to install as /usr/bin/perl.dist
and then move that to /usr/bin/perl in the postinst? It is breaking
things during upgrade on removal of the update-alternatives.
I inherited Perl this way back in November of 1995 and I suspect that
dpkg will be able to handle this better now.
I'm off to test this on some systems and find out if I can break it.
Please advise if this is a problem...
