My suggestsion for sane libsdl-<extension> naming:
libsdl<libSDL-version>-<modulename><module-soname>
<module-soname> = join('.', libSDL_net-(.*?).so.(.*?)\..*)
For libSDL_net for libSDL 1.1 this would be: libsdl1.1-net1.1.0.
Like this we have still the garanty that programs are aways run
with the right libs.
The long soname is because of the mayor and minor version _and_
the first digit of the suffix can signify binary incompatibility
(thats at least what I was told on #(lib)?sdl).
