Hi, 

looks like the new libc6 claims to be compatible, but really isn't?
gmc explicitly links to libdb2 (>= 1:2.4.14-7) (metadata.db is a
Berkeley DB).

When updating to the latest libc6, gmc didn't show its standard icons
on the Gnome desktop any longer (folder icon instead of CD-ROM/floppy
icon etc.). When trying to set the usual icons, gmc complained about
problems with the metadata (I've compiled it from the sources now and
cannot reconstruct the original error message).

Compiling from the sources with the new libc6 helps.
