wget'ing the packages

hello.

i'm in the realm of those who would migrate from ms-w to linux.

i'm still stuck inside the windows, but it's been nice to pop outside
now-and-again.

( my work-point of the day : debian + dynamic IP addressing. and getting some
things done, before the reboot. )

it's been seeming like it might be neat to have the option of building a
wget-list of all the packages that one would be needing in a session, for those
who might not be able to use `apt'-over-net and might not be able to install
from any other means besides a hard-disk-drive .

( which is my situation , currently )

an example wget-list is attatched to this email. it's for the base-*.bin of the
i386 `potato'. providing such as this, with a simple shell-script or batch-file
for stripping off the extra path-nodes, should also be a help.

perhaps the attatched list would be something to provide at the www-site, and
i'll ask later about the option of building the server-side scripting that could
take care of the wget-list building. ( a quick and
easy-to-implement-on-the-end-user-side package-getter for the ms-w'd of us. ),
and maybe this will seem less important after using APT, but it might be nice,
at least for the initial installation.

( please cc: any replies. i need to double-check if i'm subscribed to this list,
yet. )

thank you.
