It _is_ important that someone can do something remotely that I do not
permit on my machine. And it is quite nasty that /etc/news/controlperm
looks like as it supports '# ...' style comments when in fact it does not.

No, but my news server accepts feed for the big hierarchies for a few weeks
only.
