contrib/sound -> sound

I Got some bugreports complaining that xgmod is in sound 
but section is contrib/sound. Now this is crazy. 

debian/control               #section sound
gmod_3.1-7_i386.changes      #section sound
dpkg -I xgmod_3.1-7_i386.deb #section sound
apt-cache show xgmod         #section sound
dpkg -s xgmod                #section cotrib/sound !!!

What am I missing? Why is the /var/lib/dpkg/status sticking to 
contrib/sound?
