i don't know about xemacs, but for the time being exim does need to depend
on openldap. the upstream people are working on a more modular system. when
that happens the code that depends on ldap will become exim-openldap.deb and
the dependancy will be removed. it's worth mentioning that at that point, we
can also start to package the contrib parts of exim like mysql lookup
support.
