I don't think you support slashdot in any way by registering there. It might
only support them because they can show the number of accounts to their
advertisement space buyers.
As Debian does not have advertisements on its website this would not really
help us ;)
I would like to ask why do you want to register? Just do something you
can help with and post patches to the BTS or whatever. That way your
name will show up in the changelogs so you are effectively registered ;)
