Nothing was broken. The mesa packages I maintain (mesag3 and mesag3-glide2)
both provide mesag3. They also contain symlinks for libMesa{GL,GLU}.so.3.
The request for recompile is simply to enable other packages to provide
the opengl api.

Unfortunately, the mesag3+ggi packages did not get updated in time and
the glx packages didn't get added to the distro so this change doesn't
buy us much yet. As you say below, we need to move forward sometime.

Backwards compatibility should be maintained. I used 'should' simply
because the compatibility hasn't been fully tested yet (xplanet works
fine though).
