slink -> potato

Just would like to be sure about what to do to upgrade from a slink stable
system to a potato one from a box using ethernet connection:

1. Update my /etc/apt/sources.list to include only unstable entries
2. apt-get update
3. apt-get dist-upgrade

Is that right ? enough ?

What amount of free space (including space used to store .deb files) on my disk
do I need ? Is there a way to know it ?

Is there any documentation somewhere about how to do that kind of jump ?
