I'd like to rename them like this:

> ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/stable/debian
> ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/stable/contrib
> ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/stable/non-free

This doesn't make the hierarchy any deeper than it already is, and
makes it quite clear which parts are "debian" and which are not.
