Some editors ( zed ) can't run over a pseudo-tty, becouse they need get the shift status to detect shift-up, shift-down sequences. Keymaps don't support this sequences so they solve this making ioctls that a pty can't support. My suggestion is add this sequences in *kbd*.map file.
