whatever the conclusion on the matter is, i would like to know exactly
which indications you are referring to.

from reading the proftpd list, it seems like the new upstream
maintainer is working hard to fix reported bugs and the source has
undergone an independent audit/assessment very recently (you might be
able to get details from him as to the exact process).

i don't disagree w/ your conclusion, but if there are some indications
i am missing, i would surely like to know what they are.

also, does a similar conclusion apply to the wu-ftpd package?
