work on keeping it in good shape, releasing new versions, and making it easy 
to find information on the project. if you don't, someone may decide the 
software needs work and you are not doing anything, and then start working on 
a forked version.

release a version with a different license, assuming you own 100% of the code. 
else, you must get permission from others with code in it, or remove the 
offending code. you cannot retract previously released versions.
