I've been running a package I made of 1.2.3, and it's working fine on my potato machine. I sent in my application shortly before this massive confusion over the state of new developers arose, so anyone's guess is as good as mine as to when or if I'll be accepted. But anyway, recent upstream version work fine with glibc 2.1, and package fairly easily given that it's just ./configure && make. One caveat -- I had to patch configure slightly, as it tries to detect for shape extension by linking with -lXext but not -lX11, and I've sent a bug report upstream, no response. MASSIVELY OFFTOPIC: I'm in the DC area (live in Annandale, work in Reston), and I'm wondering if I could get together with any developers to sign my gpg key. I'm a newbie to the pgp/gpg use, and I've never had anyone sign my key, so some hand holding might be necessary. -- Ian Peters | GnuPG Key ID 5C23D20C | "He that breaks a thing to find out itp@gnu.org | E584 2558 FAC3 BEAB EFAC | what it is has left the path of itp@acm.org | FC74 CFED 7E24 5C23 D20C | wisdom." -- J.R.R.
