Hmmm.  The Psion is variable (you might change it when it is not mounted)
and it only matters to this one program.  I think that you are correct.

About the FHS and /var/lib - thanks for informing me, I didn't
realize it.

So does that men I have to start using /var/state/dpkg/info somtime soon?
