Ok, I agree that if they had to be splitted, the best names would be
"gettext-base" and "gettext".

Clarifications:

*) gettext is *already* part of the base system in slink.
(Does this mean it fits?)

*) The boot floppies proper (i.e. rescue and drivers) do not use gettext
as far as I know. I think Enrique is thinking about yet another way to
make them i18n, by using a special method he created which saves a lot of
space when storing the message catalogs.

Maybe Enrique would like to comment on this.
