I don't know what exactly #33384 is/was, but #5379 still exists in the
latest version.

But look, what I found in munchlist.X:

# -w Passed on to ispell (specify chars that are part of a word)
#    Unfortunately, special characters must be quoted twice
#    rather than once when invoking this script.  Also, since
#    buildhash doesn't accept this option, the final ispell -l
#    step ignores it, making it somewhat less than useful.

Perhaps that explains it all and the bug can be closed.

If noone objects I'd like to adopt ispell anyway and fix the remaining bugs.
But I can't upload before my PGP-key is included in the keyring :-(
