GTK Tutorial 1.2
Hello,
the GTK+ 1.1 development has gone to feature freeze. I think we should
think about a better thing than holding each single GTK+1.1.? version
in the Debian archive. A first step could be in my opinion to
Debianize the tutorial independently from the binary packages, because
in fact it is independent due to the feature freeze.
A second step could be to remove all packages except the last three
GTK+ versions to enforce developers to stick on the upcomming 1.2
version.
In any case we should replace the libgtk1.1.14-doc package by the
one mentioned in the appended mail I've got from the gtk-devel
list. It is far more up to date than the Debian package.
Kind regards
Andreas.

Much progress has been made recently on the Tutorial in preparation
for GTK 1.2. New sections include:
o Arrows
o Alignment
o Button Boxes
o Combo
o Fixed
o Frame
o Itemfactory
o Layout
o SpinButton
o Viewports
A packaged version of the tutorial is available in SGML, HTML, DVI,
PS and Text from the following locations:
http://www.gtk.org/~trog/gtktut
http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/Lab/4299/gtk.html
ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/tutorial
The two web sites above also contain online HTML versions.
I'd like to make the Tutorial as accurate and complete as possible
for 1.2, so please read/check it and send me any contributions you
have.
Thanks
-tony
