Duplicate ping responses from *.debian.org?

I get duplicate ping responses from {va|www}.debian.org.

[bash]$ ping www.debian.org

...

This does not affect bugs, master, cvs, etc.

This has happened several times in the past, but seems to be
transient. Anybody know what causes it?
