Well, I didn't say we should make this effort *now*.

What I said in one of my first posts was: The day there is another package
providing /bin/sh, we should analyze again the reasons to keep the
essential flag in bash.

However, it seems that we both decided to analyze the reasons *now*,
much before there is a proven alternative to /bin/sh...
