To find the package for an arbitrary binary, first do:
dpkg --search /path/to/binary
and note which package contains the binary.
Second, to find out the source for a given package, do:
dpkg --status name_of_package
One of the lines will start with "Source: " and you can use this to
download the corresponding source package on the main archive.
On hamm, /bin/login is part of package "login," which is provided by source
package "shadow."
