The problem is that by getting it via www.debian.org most links point
to a gzipped binary (dynamically linked).

Now look at what's on my system after running autoup.sh

Package `apt' is not installed and no info is available.

Clearly, I don't have the apt package --thus I question whether it
makes sense in distributing the apt-get binary that way.  Maybe
someone should update the links on www.debian.org not to point at
those bin's unless they can be replaced with their static counterparts
or add the apt package to the list of packages installed via
autoup.sh.
