I find this alarming, Dale, since are you not on the technical committee?

Perhaps some effort should be made to keep policy and such like lists
low-bandwidth so that subscribing is less painful.  I would also suggest (if
you don't already use one) a threaded email reader can speed up email list
reading...

Although, of course, personally I would always Cc: the package author, if I
thought he ought to know...
