I already submitted a bug report that Emacs didn't use the 8-bit clean input
method. The severity should probably be changed to important so it shows up in
the release 2.0 requirements list.

I would suggest not dumping in standard-display-european or iso-syntax because
it does change the behaviour of emacs significantly from the default. I would
suggest putting all the debian customizations in default.el so they can be
skipped with inhibit-default-init.
