Re: gdb is broken?

   a month ago i filed up a bug report about gdb broken thread support; maybe
` it is that ugly thread patch that's outdated.

what do you mean by broken thread support? It works for me, and, AFAIK,
problem is with libc6. OpenGroup produced two patches - one for gdb and
one for libc6. GDB one was applied, libc6 is not...

i rebuild libc6 myself with OG patch and thread debugging works as advertised.

   how come none of the bugs reported in gdb are fixed?

   #12050: gdb: tries to claim a variable is 0x0, when it's "'"
       Package: gdb; Reported by: James Troup <J.J.Troup@comp.brad.ac.uk>;
   478 days old.

don't know

       #16801: gdb and mmx
       Package: gdb; Reported by: Vincent Renardias <vincent@waw.com>; 330
   days old.

that was fixed, i believe... GDB(BFD) now decodes mmx opcodes and
is able to show FP registers which are by coincidence the same as MMX ones

       #22972: gdb again lacks m68k support
       Package: gdb; Reported by: Roman.Hodek@informatik.uni-erlangen.de; 189
   days old.

i think that's fixed too

       #24598: bug in ObjC support (plus workaround)
       Package: gdb; Reported by: Matthias Klose <doko@cs.tu-berlin.de>; 142
   days old.

don't know

       #28058: gdb lacks thread support
       Package: gdb; Reported by: "Anthony C. Zboralski" <acz@debian.org>; 49
   days old.

libc6 problem, actually

       #28274: gdb: diff for NMU of 4.17-4.m68k.objc.threads.hwwp.fpu.gnat.2
       Package: gdb; Reported by: James Troup <james@nocrew.org>; 44 days
   old.
       #28653: gdb_4.17-4.m68k.objc.threads.hwwp.fpu.gnat.2(unstable):
   Doesn't compile on m68k due to
       threads patch
       Package: gdb; Reported by: Roman.Hodek@informatik.uni-erlangen.de; 37
   days old.

that two probably have to be fixed

OK
