We have gone metric, honest guv!!  Well, food is now sold in kilos and
grams, although our traffic speed signs are still in miles per hour
(like they are in some country I've visited on the other side of the
Atlantic), and noone around here would know how much they weigh in
kilos, only in stones (=14 pounds) and pounds.  And a height in metres
and centimetres?  Pull the other one!  Ah well, maybe we're not so
metric after all.  Come to think of it, we had pounds, shillings and
pence less than thirty years ago!
