I have noticed a general total slowdown when using screen over ssh. It
seems to send a chunk of data and then wait for a time, then repeat.
Loading bitchx takes amost a full minute of this send, pause, send. A
second ssh that is not running screen loads virtually instanly. Pine also
has a slowdown when switching messages.
I just did a quick little test and it doesn't seem to happen locally.
