I have only taken slink/main since that is what is important.  Also
I only have picked up show stoppers, these are Depends and Recommends.
An unmet Suggests ist silently ignored by dselect.  However I agree
that they need to be reduced, too.

Since you wrote some code, could you include a binary into the
apt package that does:

  a) Test for depends and/or recommends in a single Packages

  b) Test for suggests in a single Packages file.

  c) Test for depends and/or recommends in a set of Packages

  d) Test for Suggests in a set of Packages files

I'd like to have Depends, Recommends and Suggests be controllable
via command line.  The (list of) Packages should be provided on
the command line as well.

Please let it exit with 0 if no error was found and with something
else if something went wrong.



Unix is user friendly ...  It's just picky about its friends.
