Debian from the Stampede's POV

Hello!

This is what I got from the Stampede's FAQ:

How is Stampede Linux better than Debian Linux?

+ glibc2 in the standard distribution
          + Up to date programs
+ PGCC for that added performance kick
+ Package format that is very usable across other distrobutions
                            ___________________________________________

How is Stampede Linux better than Slackware Linux?

+ glibc2 in the standard distribution
+ PGCC for that added performance kick
+ Wider variety of window managers
          + Wider selection of programs
                            ___________________________________________

How is Stampede Linux better than RedHat Linux?

+ PGCC for that added performance kick
+ Wider variety of window mangaers
                            ___________________________________________

How is Stampede Linux better than Caldera Open Linux?

+ glibc2 in the standard distribution
          + Up to date programs
+ PGCC for that added performance kick
+ Wider variety of window managers

This does seem to imply that even Slackware has more recent versions of
programs than Debian *shudder*. The fourth point (Package format) does mean
that their "format", .slp, is just a tar ball with extra files. Maybe they
don't know that they are doing what we do?

Just what I found browsing slashdot about Bruce's proposal...

Thank you,
Marcus
