Oh Yes. You are right.
/etc/enviroment isn't on a debian -system. :-(
but ssh read /etc/enviroment (see man-page) (man2html help my to find it :-)
in debian-devel(?) was a thread with /etc/enviroment. I don't use it, but
when we patch all packages (for 2.1?) then we have a nice file for
enviroments!
