Am I the only one having this problem?? After a major hamm upgrade a few months ago the man command only works on cached pages. I don't know if I should attribute this to man-db or to less or to something else. To be precise: When I call man on a new command where the cat page has not yet been generated, the first page of the manual is displayed. When I page the manpage further (my pager is set to less and I use lesspipe) sooner or later "less" will just quit as if I had entered "q". When I give the same man command again, it will just display normally. Maybe this has to do with man gzipping the cat pages, but it worked before and it's a nuisance to type almost every man command twice (ok, it's not that difficult with commandline editing but its still a bug) Nils -- *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* | Quotes from the net: L> Linus Torvalds, W> Winfried Truemper | | L>this is the special easter release of linux, more mundanely called 1.3.84 | | W>Umh, oh. What do you mean by "special easter release"?. Will it quit | * W>working today and rise on easter? *
