The sources of tetex-base, tetex-extra and tetex-doc etc. are not the
same as tetex-src.

The files in tetex-src are additional files which you don't need to
install to make tetex run and which you don't need to build tetex-base
etc.

The architecture independent files of tetex come (from upstream) as
ready installable files. Some of theres files were produced from the
file in tetex-src by doc-strip, which just - as the name says - strips
the documentation from the file.

I did not look into it in deepth, but you don't need them other than
to fullfill copyright.
