Intent to package: xtartan

I intend to package (actually, have packaged) the xtartan program, which
displays Scottish tartans (check patterns) in an X window or on the
display's root window. According to the (BSD-like) copyright notice,
which I have appended to this message, it can presumably go into `main/x11'
at priority `optional'; I have disabled an option that would let
the user save a tartan in GIF format using the `non-free' GD library,
which would otherwise have forced the package into `contrib'. This
option is easy to enable in the source code, and anyway the program
supports saving into XPM files, from which you can easily go to GIF in
any of a number of ways.

I will upload the package into `slinky' (when that becomes available)
with the above-mentioned section and priority specifications, unless
there are objections. In the meantime, anybody who is interested can
take a look at the package in

  ftp://ftp.tm.informatik.uni-frankfurt.de/pub/linux/debian-local

.
