That may be an idea.  It may be interesting to split e2fsprogs into an
e2fsprogs-base package.

Candidates for non-base are IMHO:

findsuper
tune2fs
dumpe2fs
flushb
lsattr
chattr
debugfs
mklost+found


That will leave in e2fsprogs-base:

mke2fs / mkfs.ext2
e2fsck / fsck.ext2
fsck
badblocks


Do you think it would be sufficient for the boot disks ?
